Check for Verizon OEM Lock

The most common issue for pixel 3s

Unfortunately this is one of the most common issues with buying old pixel 3s online. We are currently working on a solution to bring pre-loaded ethOS phones to users, but until then, this problem persists.

We've also found that the swappa store sells pixel 5a's which work more often, but are more costly than a pixel 3.

1. Boot up phone
2. Check for OEM Unlocking​
3. Navigate to “About phone” at the bottom of settings
4. Check if your IMEI number starts with 35
5. Go to your browser & search any term
6. Check to see if the end of the URL has &client=ms-android-verizon or “verizon”

1. If 4 or 6 is true, unfortunately your bootloader is locked 😢 you will not be able to download ethOS
2. You can try this resource to unlock, however the ethOS team has not verified its validity
